What clients often ask before their first suit at Platino: our consultations, fittings, fabrics, wedding suits and aftercare.
Suits, blazers, shirts, trousers, tuxedos, wedding attire and men's accessories. Every choice is advised according to your build, purpose and personal style.
Yes. Your consultant starts with the occasion, your profession, build, style, the clothes you already own and your budget. Platino then proposes no more than three options, with one clearly recommended.
Too many choices make deciding harder. Platino filters in advance by need, build, color, style and budget, and only presents the options truly worth considering.
Yes. A full consultation can cover everything from the suit or blazer to the shirt, trousers, shoes, tie, pocket square and accessories. The goal is a cohesive look you will actually wear — not selling as much as possible.
We recommend booking if you need an in-depth consultation, measurements, a fitting, a wedding suit, or want to see a wide selection of fabrics. Booking lets Platino dedicate our full attention to you. Book a consultation
Ready-to-wear works when you need something quickly and your build is close to standard sizing. Made-to-measure is right when you want to perfect the shoulders, jacket length, sleeves, waist, trousers and overall proportion. Platino advises on your real needs and never assumes you must go made-to-measure.
Yes. Tailoring doesn't require a particular body type. The right shoulder line, jacket length, button position, lapel width, rise and trouser width bring balance and a natural look.
Depending on the garment: shoulders, chest, waist, stomach, seat, jacket length, sleeve length, bicep, trouser waist, thigh, knee, hem and trouser length. Beyond the numbers, your consultant also observes your posture, shoulder balance and body characteristics. See our 4-step process
Measurements are the foundation, but a body is more than numbers. A fitting directly checks the shoulders, collar, chest, waist, sleeves, trousers, front-to-back balance and freedom of movement, so the garment looks right standing and feels comfortable sitting and moving. Fitting Standard
It depends on the garment and the adjustments required. Some clients need just one fitting and minor refinements; others need more to achieve the best proportion. Platino prioritizes the quality of each fitting over limiting the number of adjustments.
The earlier the better, especially for wedding suits, tuxedos, event attire or orders that need several fittings. When taking your order, Platino confirms a clear schedule — Measuring → Fitting → Adjustment → Delivery — around the date you need to wear it.
Your consultant will check the time remaining, the type of garment, fabric availability and fitting feasibility before confirming a plan. Platino would rather deliver to standard than promise an unrealistic deadline.
Mainly the mill and fabric line, the configuration (two-piece, three-piece, jacket or trousers only), the level of personalization and how urgently you need it. See price ranges and production times
Not necessarily. Warmth or breathability also depends on fabric weight, weave, air permeability, jacket construction and canvassing. Some lightweight, high-twist or tropical wools are ideal for hot climates.
You can't judge by the Super number alone; it mainly reflects how fine the yarn is. Finer yarns are usually softer, but men who wear suits often may be better served by a more durable, stable cloth. Platino prioritizes suitability for how you'll use it.
Platino weighs five factors: purpose, how often you'll wear it, climate, style and budget. A client who wears a suit every week has different criteria from one who needs a special suit for his wedding.
Our mills and collections change over time. Your consultant recommends based on budget, purpose, season, color, composition and how much wear it will get. Platino chooses the right cloth for your needs before talking brand names.
For most clients, navy or charcoal grey is the best foundation: easy to pair with shirts, right for work, versatile across occasions, timeless and easy to match with shoes. The final choice still depends on your profession, age and current wardrobe.
Not necessarily. A black suit is highly formal and suits certain specific occasions. For everyday business settings, navy or charcoal is usually more versatile and easier to style.
The notch lapel is classic and versatile, ideal for business suits and a first suit. The peak lapel (with points angled upward) is bolder and more formal, suited to double-breasted, wedding and formal suits.
There are three levels: No Break (almost no fold on the shoe), Slight Break (one gentle fold) and Full Break (a clear fold). Platino usually recommends a Slight Break or close to No Break for a modern business look.
On a two-button jacket: fasten the top button when standing and never the bottom. Unbutton the jacket when you sit.
Navy pairs with black, dark brown or burgundy shoes. Grey works with black, brown or burgundy depending on the shade. For very formal occasions, black shoes are the safest choice.
A wedding suit can raise the formality through fabric, color, a peak lapel, waistcoat, jacket construction, accessories and the choice of shirt and shoes. Even so, Platino makes sure the groom looks natural — never overwhelmed by his outfit.
Yes, if it is designed with versatility in mind from the start. A refined navy or charcoal suit can go on to serve you at work, events, parties and important meetings. Mention this right at the consultation.
A tuxedo is for formal or black-tie occasions, typically with satin or grosgrain facings, a peak lapel or shawl collar, a tuxedo shirt and bow tie. A tuxedo is not simply a black suit.
Yes. Platino keeps your measurements, fit preference, fabric codes, garment configuration and post-fitting adjustments for your next order. If you return after a long time or your build has changed, we recommend re-checking your measurements.
Contact Platino to have it re-checked in person on your body. The garment is assessed at one of three levels — PASS, ADJUST or RE-FIT — before we recommend the right solution for its actual condition. Aftercare service
Because it is made to your measurements, build, fabric and configuration, a made-to-measure garment usually cannot be exchanged for another style like ready-to-wear. When there is a fitting or technical issue, Platino prioritizes inspecting it, identifying the cause, altering it and re-fitting.
Issues with tailoring and finishing such as seams, buttons, buttonholes and lining, within the policy in effect at the time of purchase. Cases caused by significant body changes, use or cleaning contrary to care instructions, accidents, or alterations made elsewhere may not be covered free of charge.
In many cases, yes, depending on the area to adjust, the seam allowance and the garment's construction. The jacket waist, trouser waist or length are usually easier to adjust than the shoulders. Platino needs to see it in person before confirming.
Don't dry-clean after every wear. Hang the jacket on a suitable hanger, let it rest in a well-ventilated place, brush it lightly when needed and only dry-clean when truly necessary. If you wear suits often, rotate several so the wool has time to recover.
